Colorado vNet

Simple, Failsafe, Reliable!

Let us design your home as well as your lighting control system!

Award Winning System!

Colorado vNet has simplified lighting and control to an extent previously inconceivable by any but the most optimistic futurists.

The heart of the system is a star pattern hub that connects to each of input and output devices via standard CAT5e home-run wiring. The wiring terminates in RJ-45 connectors at both ends. See System Diagram.

Our practice of significantly reducing the number of SKUs necessary to build a whole-home solution is much in evidence here. The two input modules are either a 5-button or 8-button keypad that controls the scene, or a touchpad which fits within a standard Decora plate.

As for output, we feature a dimming module carrying up to 8 loads totaling 1920w, a dimming ballast module for fluorescent lighting, and an output module designed to manage very heavy loads.

Finally, we can connect a bridge to the entire system that controls timed events, and that connects directly to the Colorado vNet hosted server in order to provide integrator system information and to remotely control and alter house settings. It also serves as a diagnostic tool.

Ultimate Reliability

  • No central point of failure
The entire system has been designed without a central point of failure, which lowers the cost and speeds up the installation process. It also means, of course, that you will never experience the frustration of a dark home.

  • Works on a Control Area Network
The CAN system isn’t just mission-critical – it’s life-critical. It’s the same network used for braking, lights and control in automobiles, and it’s about as reliable as it’s possible to get.
  • 24/7 web monitoring
Modules needing attention are automatically tracked by the Bridge, which then reports back via email to the Integrator in seconds.

 Simplified System Components

  • Low component count
Our system is straightforward and relies on well under 100 components which compares very favorably with the hundreds generally offered by companies in our market. Helps reduce system complexity and facilitates maintenance and support; reducing costs.

  • Hub and spoke installation
Easy wire pulls, fast troubleshooting and simple design – the hallmark of our system. We have also ensured that there are no remote power supplies.
  • CAT5e cable wiring
It’s low cost, low maintenance, and easy to find. Just like the RJ-45 connectors that we use.
  • Reduced wiring (Romex runs)
Because the dimming modules are compact, fan-less and paintable, they can be located anywhere.  By locating the modules close to the lights (loads) that they will control, there is reduced installation time and cost.

Flexible and expandable

  • From 3 modules to 8,000
Both small and large installations can use the same modules resulting in lower costs and swifter design times.
  • The Decora keypad
Our keypad is instantly customizable using straightforward digital graphics. So it can blend in with any décor easily. Even the button legends are customizable to the homeowner’s needs; the whole keypad is configurable in minutes.
