Construction Design & Engineering:For centuries home builders in the United States have made wood their material of choice because of its satisfactory performance, abundant supply, and relatively low cost. However, recent increases and unpredictable fluctuations in the price of framing lumber, as well as concerns with its quality, are causing builders and other providers of affordable housing to seek alternative building products and building techniques. Among the alternative building products and techniques, steel is becoming a leader. Combining steel materials with the advancements in building science is leading to an environmentally compatible and efficient system of building new homes. Light gauge steel construction is becoming very popular due to its strength and resistance to natural forces and vermin infestation. Combined with advances in insulation materials, an insulated component steel home becomes a very energy and dependable system of providing homes. There are a variety of options when considering using steel to build your home. Among them is traditional framing with light gauge steel; replacing the traditional studs and truss assemblies with light gauge steel. Alternatives and advancements are offering a combination 'pre-fabricated' panels using a variety of approaches. These panelized techniques, called Structured Insulated Panels or SIP's, are becoming very popular. they offer strength, durability and high insulation factors. In addition, the time to erect the home to the 'dried in' state is usually a matter of days; as opposed to months for more traditional building techniques. While steel is usually our material of choice, there are some SIP panelized systems that utilize wood in the manufacturing process. These systems have a highly integrated manufacturing process that delivers a superior product in a very short time frame. Meeting our highest quality standards, many SIP suppliers provide a quality product that meets strenuous standards for strength, termite and mold resistance. We are currently working with SIP suppliers to design homes and modular structures for the more adventurous lifestyles!
